Safety day at Colorado Mills

Colorado Mills hosted a back-to-school Safety Day event with fun, interactive activities and educational information about public safety for all ages on Aug. 20.

Tthe Lakewood Police Department, SWAT and K9 Unit, as well as Golden Police, Wheat Ridge Police, Colorado State Patrol, Jefferson County Sheriffs Office and West Metro Fire Rescue were on hand with demonstrations and to talk to the public.

Lakewood's K9 Unit was there, as was the State Patrol’s impaired driving simulator. First responder vehicles, including a State Patrol car, Wheat Ridge's new police truck, and a vintage Lakewood police cruiser, were on display.
