A design created by local artist Emily Baker-Slama was chosen as the new look for the Origin Red Rocks hotel shuttle.

Baker-Slama’s design for the shuttle features Morrison, Red Rocks Park, downtown Golden and other local scenery. It was chosen in a contest in July by the Foothills Art Center. The contest invited local artists to create a unique design featuring Golden, the foothills, the Rocky Mountains and area attractions and activities such as hiking and biking, Red Rocks Amphitheatre and the region’s numerous craft breweries. Baker-Slama’s design was chosen from among more than 60 design entries.

“We’re excited to showcase our newly designed shuttle to the community,” Charlie Smith, Origin Red Rocks general manager, said in a news release. “Our shuttle helps our guests explore the area and the locally-focused design only further connects guests to the essential spirit of the region.”

Baker-Slama is a Denver-based graphic designer and illustrator who is originally from Phoenix, Arizona. She serves as a graphic designer at Agency Fifty3 in Glendale. She has a bachelor’s degree in visual communications with a dual emphasis in graphic design and interactive design from Northern Arizona University.

Origin Red Rocks is the official hotel partner to Red Rocks Amphitheatre. It celebrated its grand opening in August 2018. The hotel’s shuttle provides free transportation for guests to places within a five-mile radius. On concert nights, guests can take the shuttle to and from the amphitheater for $15 per person.
