Letter to the editor: How to fill the 1A shortfall

Now that Jeffco’s stealth tax-revenue-increasing Issue 1A has been roundly rejected, what are the distraught 88,422 voters who favored it to do?
Rather than sock themselves and their already overtaxed neighbors for the full $16 Million, might they now step up to the plate to fill the much ballyhooed shortfall?
If they are so inclined, wouldn’t a measly $185 each, cover needed services, plus the seemingly ever-increasing County bureaucracy/administrators?
Or, if only half were willing to contribute, wouldn’t just $370 (as a payroll deducted $31/month) more than fill the bill?
Shouldn’t our County Commissioners follow the example of Massachusetts, by establishing a figurative pay-window where those feeling that they are undertaxed, could, at least, pay their fair share, ... and be the first to contribute to it?
