Wheat Ridge gets into the spirit of the season

The mood was merry in te line of eager youngsters and their parents waiting in line for a children's choo-choo that circulated during the Wheat Ridge 2017 Holiday Celebration and tree lighting.

The event was held on Dec. 2, at The Green at 38, in front of Stevens Elementary. It included photos with Santa, free hot chocolate and cookies, food trucks and Christmas carolers.

Aubrey and Jordan from Wheat Ridge were among the next in line.

Mom Jacquelyn Einspahr helped them load up when the time came.

“It’s our first time, she said of the holiday celebration. "It’s pretty awesome actually,” Einspahr said of the celebration,
