Skateboarding in Arvada

A day at the Arvada Skate Park

The Arvada Skate Park draws skateboarders and BMX riders from across the Denver area. For Leonardo Zorriooa, 13, an Edgewater resident, the Arvada Skate Park is premier because it is “well made” and has “a unique and different style.” Located at 12920 W. 72nd Ave., the Arvada Skate Park — which opened in June 2012 — is the third largest skate park in the country with 40,000 square feet of skating surface. What gives the park its edge is that it was designed by Team Pain, a skate park design company based in Florida, comprised of experienced skateboarders. Team Pain is well recognized in the skating community, having designed over 70 skate parks throughout the country — their name recognition draws a variety of skaters.

One of their newest projects is the Ulysses Skate Park in Golden, which opened April 22.

The Arvada Skate Park is open from sunrise to 10 p.m. daily.
