Why are you seeking this office?

I am seeking office to protect and promote the common good. It is vital that each individual, neighborhood, and community is well represented at the Capitol. We are at a crossroads in this country, and I prefer to bring people together rather than divide us further.

What makes you the most qualified
person for the position?

Colorado is facing significant issues, and I have actively collaborated with others in addressing many of those issues facing our communities. I show up, listen, participate, and collaborate. We have worked on issues surrounding growth, the rising cost of housing, mental health, homelessness, substance use, public education, sustainability and environmental issues, public health initiatives, employment opportunities, infrastructure and transportation. I am the most qualified candidate because of my track record of working together and getting things done. We will continue to move Colorado forward.

What would your top two priorities be if elected?

I would like to expand access to healthcare and mental health services. I support universal healthcare, and I fully believe access to preventative and proactive services is the right thing to do as well as the fiscally responsible thing to do. I will work to help integrate resources and services that promote the quality of life for all members of our community.

Growth must be handled in a responsible and sustainable manner. We must continue to implement strong environmental leadership in the planning of transportation initiatives, economic development, recreating, water management, and the solid push for renewable energy options across the board.

What else should the voters know about you?

Leadership is only as productive as the people you empower. I want to empower others to make the change they wish to see. I’ve been lucky to have great mentors — people like Ed Perlmutter and Lesley Dahlkemper. It is my duty to help mentor and empower the next generation of leaders and community members.
