The Jefferson County Board of Education met for its first study session of the 2017-18 school year the morning of Wednesday, Aug. 2 at the Windy Peak Outdoor Lab School just outside Bailey.
The agenda included orienting new superintendent Dr. Jason Glass. Glass began his work as superintendent of Jeffco Public Schools effective July 1. The retreat to the outdoor lab is the first opportunity for the Board and superintendent to formally gather together to establish parameters, strategies and goals for the coming school year.
Included in the retreat was a discussion of the Jeffco 2020 vision and its implementation this school year along with the establishment of goals and an evaluation system for the new superintendent.
The four part audio of the day-long meeting is available to the public at www.jeffcopublicschools.org/about/board/board_meeting_minutes.
The Jeffco BOE will have another study session Aug. 24 and the first regular business meeting will be Sept. 7.
